In recent days, LCK Spring 2024 has witnessed extremely uncomfortable incidents related to the network transmission system. Starting from the match between Dplus – Drx and recently, T1 – Fearx continues to become “victims”. In both matches, there is the same scenario: The teams are playing smoothly, there is a transmission problem, the organizers resolve the delay and the repetitive incident and eventually have to switch the game format (or the remaining match, if any).
Showmaker sleeps always on the competition chair during the BTC time to deal with the DK – DRX match
The incident occurred, the first people were affected by the players, the audience and the parties operating the tournament. Even with many areas such as VCS or other small areas with a schedule that coincides with the LCK calendar will be affected when the audience may be difficult to focus on the matches in these small tournaments. Not to mention, the time zone difference will affect the time of the audience in different areas. For example, the DK – DRX battle forced the audience to wait 7 hours and when the settlement was completed, it was almost the end of the day.
Faker and T1 members clearly showed their tiredness in the match against Fearx because of the transmission incident
But if the “victim” is T1, then the incident is even more special to attract attention. However, in the speech after the match, Faker still has the moves to “talk” to the BTC LCK: “In my case, I also played a lot of Delay matches like this. So I think this is also normal and a good experience. I just felt ashamed because fans were unable to experience the match in the best way. But anyway, the good thing is that everyone tried to keep the game continue.”
Faker still talks to the tournament organizers
According to the announcement from the BTC LCK, the tournament was attacked by DDOS and is still seeking to fix it. However, the matches on February 29 – March 1 (local time) will be transferred to the form of reporting and updating the score. Obviously, the DDOS incident this time is extremely serious and cannot be solved overnight.
“Unfortunately, LCK will have to show matches in the form of narration this week to avoid the impact of the problem due to DDOS. Those who have purchased tickets on February 29 and March 1 will be refunded 100% and the ticket sales will be delayed until the new notice. We will do everything the best so that the audience can come to the live tournament.
But perhaps, BTC LCK and Riot need to make more drastic and effective moves. LCK Spring 2024 has just started the second leg and no one can know before the incident is still recurring but the harmful effects that incidents bring are extremely unpredictable.
