Riot announced the new tournament of the League of Legends village in the APAC area
As known, shortly ago, Riot has announced that from 2025, VCS will also be combined into an APAC area so that the League of Legends village has only 5 largest areas. This consolidation not only increases its competitiveness but also helps Riot to focus on investing in names that really deserve. At that time, there was a lot of worries from Vietnamese League of Legends that the VCS teams were invested strongly (GAM ESPORTS, Team Secret, Vikings Esports …) will be considered as always, and small teams will be hard to stand firm.
From 2025, VCS will participate in a separate growing tournament for LoL area of APAC
Recently, Riot has officially announced the new tournament. Accordingly, the official tournament of the APAC area from 2025 will be named League of Legends Championship Pacific (referred to as LCP). And during this tournament, the areas of the APAC group (VCS, PCS, LJL …) will play as usual to find promotions as well as maintain and develop their own League of Legends.

Considering the 3 largest area of LCP, it can be seen that VCS and PCS are the two areas with the most advantages. In particular, VCS is better than at least, except for PSG Talon, it can be confident that the remaining teams of PCS are difficult to compete with VCS. Even if Vikings Esports does not encounter a strong opponent, Mad Lions Koi in the first match of the Worlds Startup round 2024, the VKE players may not go down so seriously in the match against Pain Gaming later.
GAM may still be the first flag of VCS at the upcoming LCP
As for PCS, even in the summer, except for PSG Talon, the rest did not have any team that won Fukuoka Softbank Hawks Gaming.
