The gaming industry in Vietnam is recognizing significant growth with expected revenue of US $ 1.66 billion in 2025 and continues to grow evenly 9.77% per year, can reach 2.42 billion USD by 2029. According to the orientation of the strategy of management and development of the electronic game industry on the period of 2025 – 2030, Vietnam continues to be one of the fastest developing gaming markets in Southeast Asia.

“Vietnam's gaming industry is witnessing a strong transformation, not only in technology but also in how to connect with players. Taking advantage of digital platforms like Tiktok to spread creative content and community construction is a strategic step,” Mr. Do Viet Hung, Vice Chairman of Asia Electronic Sports Federation (AESF), Chairman of Vietnam Entertainment Electronic Sports Association (Viresa), said at the Gaming on Tiktok Hanoi Summit 2025 event.

Also at the event, Ms. Maayan Kotler, Director of the Asia -Pacific Gaming Area (APAC), shared that in Vietnam there are about 12 million players and 70% of players often play games on mobile phones (mobile games).

He also added that Vietnam is currently emerging as one of the leading creative centers of the gaming industry in Southeast Asia. According to her, the strong development of the passionate community of game building, combined with the companion of the Government, has helped Vietnamese game publishers not only create successful products in the country but also gradually reach out to the international market.

In this context, social networking platforms like Tiktok are playing an increasingly pronounced role in game content consumption. According to an internal survey published by this platform, more than half of Tiktok users used to explore the new game through the content displayed on the application. Game products are also appearing more and more in the popular cultural space, thanks to the combination of entertainment, music and life elements.

Vietnam is currently in the group of 5 leading mobile game producers in the world, according to Bloomberg's ranking in 2023, with more than 4.2 billion global downloads – 2.5 times higher than the world average. Mobile game segment – the most popular Vietnamese – is expected to achieve $ 712 million in revenue by 2029.

In addition to the market potential, the capacity to deploy the game promotion campaign of domestic publishers is also gradually improving. Some games like Revelation, Thien Kiem Chi Van or Sword Origin achieve positive results when using the Tiktok platform to increase the installation and improve the advertising efficiency.

Although there are many challenges on policies, competition and development of the team, Vietnamese gaming industry is converging favorable factors to expand the scale of domestic and foreign. The participation of international technology platforms, if used properly, can become one of the tools to promote growth, innovate user approach and enhance the position of Vietnamese publishers on the global game map.
