Can merging APAC increasing the possibility of foreign soldiers in VCS?

As is known, shortly ago, right before the summer of the summer of 2024, Riot announced the merger of areas since the 2025 season and will produce a new tournament. This incident immediately attracted strong attention from the League of Legends community, especially in the notified areas. In particular, VCS will probably become part of the APAC common area along with PCS, LJL … to compete for the future international tournaments such as MSI or Worlds. This has been forecasted, but has also left a lot of discussion and of course, the merger is completely unrelated to the recent semi -degrees of Vietnamese League of Legends.

And recently, while announcing the squad for VCS in the summer of 2024, the team Whales team had an unexpected notice: there will be 2 foreign soldiers from LCK to join the VCS representative. And unlike some previous cases, these two foreign soldiers are rated as quite quality, and some have even been the champion of the LCK Challengers – the second highest highest quality tournament in Kimchi, only after the LCK main tournament. Many viewers still expect, when joining APAC and perform well, VCS will be able to have more foreign soldiers at the largest League of Legends tournament in Vietnam.

However, in reality, it is not until now VCS has been paid attention to by foreign soldiers from other areas. And perhaps, only those who do not have knowledge about LoL will still think that VCS is less quality than PCS or LJL – areas full of foreign soldiers, especially from LCK. However, the factor that prevents the appearance of foreign soldiers in Vietnamese Legends, is the labor law for foreigners.

Typically the case of the TW is mentioned above. Until now, two foreign players of TW still do not know when it is possible to debut in the “whale” shirt at this year's VCS. And this is at a much more macro level and joining APAC will not be solved. Perhaps, simply if joining APAC, VCS will have the opportunity to confirm the power of Vietnamese League, and that Riot in the past allowed VCS to split into a separate area is completely reasonable.

Joining APAC will be able to increase the competitiveness and quality of the region. However, they have nothing to do with the future of foreign soldiers at VCS. Even at that time, the tournament will have to be more carefully selected to avoid unfortunate cases as it has happened in the past.
