Former World Worlds shine to help NIP defeat JDG
After the Summer LPL group stage 2024 ended, Nip was one of the huge disappointing teams. Simply because they had a super bad achievement in the group stage with 8 consecutive defeats and showed a weak gameplay. Even a former King of Worlds like Rookie also shows relatively disappointment in the group stage and no longer shows the style as expected from the audience.
Nip has ended in the group stage of the summer LPL 2024 with 8 losses
However, when walking to the playoffs round, Nip completely transformed with victories against LGD and even JDG. In particular, Rookie is the player shone brightly with KDA after 5 games against JDG is October 26/27 and contributes to 928 damage per minute (DPM). These are all extremely high and overwhelming numbers compared to JDG players. This victory also lit up the hope of attending NIP 2024 Worlds when they had enough points to participate in the regional qualifier.
However, NIP recently defeated JDG with a score of 3-2 and certainly enough points to participate in the Worlds Regional Regional qualifier this year.
The harsh criticism of the former Worlds
Despite winning such important victories, Rookie still has certain dissatisfied points. In the match against JDG, Rookie had to play the gunner general in all 5 games with names like Lucian, Zeri and Smold. Despite winning, former World Worlds 2018 shared at the interview later that he was extremely uncomfortable with the current mid -lane meta of League of Legends.
“I cannot distinguish myself playing mid or lower lane anymore. It is really absurd when there are too many gunners who are played in the current mid lane. I don't know what they (Riot Games) will do in the next version but the current meta really makes me extremely uncomfortable. I hope that Riot will have some change so that the mid lane players have the opportunity to use the magician.

Riot's plan to edit professional Meta League
Basically, Rookie is not the first to criticize Riot Games for the current mid -line meta. Showmaker also made similar statements not long ago that the magicians were gradually losing their positions in the position that should have belonged to this character class. Riot Games himself probably understood this problem, so in the upcoming 14.16 version, they will buff the magicians and Nerf generals mercilessly the gunner too strong in the single line.
The gunner goes too strong in the current meta will be heavy in the upcoming Nerf in the upcoming version of 14.16
In addition, Riot will also increase the strength of the black ax to buff the physical gladiator class so they can regain their position in the top lane. Therefore, the prospect of former Worlds such as Rookie or Showmaker can escape the mid lane Meta that can occur in the near future. Hopefully they will take advantage of these changes to compete successfully or at least win a ticket to Worlds 2024.
